We must understand if your search query can reach your Elasticsearch instance. Try to find access in your Elasticsearch logs, and check that they are not blocked by a firewall on your WordPress server.

Default sort is fixed, but there is a hook to update it from code.
Extracted from file wp-content/plugins/wpsolr-pro/wpsolr/pro/extensions/geolocation/class-wpsolr-option-geolocation.php:
add_filter( WPSOLR_Events::WPSOLR_FILTER_DEFAULT_SORT_FIELDS, [ $this, 'wpsolr_filter_default_sort_fields', ], 10, 1 );
* Get geolocation default sort * * @param string $default_sort * * @param WPSOLR_Query $wpsolr_query * * @return string */ public function wpsolr_filter_default_sort( $default_sort, WPSOLR_Query $wpsolr_query ) { if ( $this->get_is_geolocation( $wpsolr_query ) ) { // It's a geolocation search, use default geolocation default sort $geolocation_default_sort = WPSOLR_Service_Container::getOption()->get_option_geolocation_default_sort(); if ( ! empty( $geolocation_default_sort ) ) { // Use default geolocation default sort return $geolocation_default_sort; } } // No default geolocation default sort, or not a geolocation search: use the general default sort. return $default_sort; }wpsolrKeymaster7 years, 5 months ago in reply to: Newest first always #11840You can set the default sort to be by date. But unconditionally.
wpsolrKeymaster7 years, 5 months ago in reply to: Unable to replace the default WordPress search with WPSOLR search #11838Ok, so suggestions are working fine.
Is your search page using the standard url: “/?s=”
wpsolrKeymaster7 years, 5 months ago in reply to: WPSOLR: error on term #11837Help how?
wpsolrKeymaster7 years, 5 months ago in reply to: Newest first always #11835Is there any way to always get chronological order for all the results returned from search?
You want to sort results by date?
wpsolrKeymaster7 years, 5 months ago in reply to: Which of these options should I use? #11834solr^0.5
Boost values are only useful when you want to boost the content of some fields. In your example, your field containing the world “solr” would see its score divided by a factor 2.
What you just need is: select the “title” field in screen 2.3, and set a boost factor of 2 for instance.

wpsolrKeymaster7 years, 5 months ago in reply to: Baseless URL in results. #11824Does this require customization of the plugin code? Or does it offer this built in?
It will require some code, using WPSOLR actions/filters.
Basically, I need to remove wpsolr/search from the URL, but, also, I need to make sure those exact same URLs generated are also landable pages that can rank with their meta data. I’m not expecting the plugin to update the meta data with AJAX, but, I do expect that when the page loads, the meta data is showing what I have set in the WP/Woo Category & Tag.
Is your question about search urls “/?s=”, or custom urls like “/bmw/325” ?
wpsolrKeymaster7 years, 5 months ago in reply to: Baseless URL in results. #11819Hi,
We could indeed map urls to filters by code. But the facets urls would keep their current structure.
wpsolrKeymaster7 years, 5 months ago in reply to: Unable to replace the default WordPress search with WPSOLR search #11817Did you create the index from WPSOLR, or from outside?
