Thank you! I should have mentioned that I was using Algolia! Sorry about that.
I will post the other issue to another ticket.

How do you go about adding the “did you mean” when queries are misspelled? Doing some tests I cant get that message to display.

Another thought / feedback on the Autocomplete included with WPsolr.

This only applies when you are displaying multiple content types grouped together in the autocomplete:

In the past and with WP Search with Algolia plugin, instead of relying on just the main index to populate the autocomplete (specifically the attributes/categories/tags/etc.), separate indices are created for each filter that are queried simultaneously.

In the past I have seen this approach taken because there were hundreds of thousands of “tags” and without the autocomplete would take longer to load.

Not saying that this is the reason why the current implementation in WPsolr is slower than ideal but I figured it was useful feedback to help improve the plugin.

I guess I am still not clear here.

    1. All the facets displayed after a user searches have noindex nofollow tags.

    2. However, all of the facets made available on catgeory pages all have index follow tags which I need to change to noindex/nofollow.

Where are the settings with #2?

Just so I am clear here: The WPSolr autocomplete is not using the Instant Search (presumably what WP Search for Algolia is using for their autocomplete)?

If so, can you give some advice on how one would best go about building an Autocomplete that would work with WPsolr (using the instant search offers)?

Yeah, there is an option to include all indices in your reports via the Analytics section. It wasn’t reporting, now it is. Not sure what changed but will post back if I find anything.

Where are these setttings? In WPSolr? I only see options to noindex/nofollow the actual facets that are displayed after you search OR there is another option that allows to nofollow/noindex permalinks. Not on the category pages?

This is a non-issue after understanding that the {meta} is only used in the actual search results (not the category pages).

I had a secondary sort in place that was completely overwriting the primary sort. New was the secondary sort and didn’t seem to account for the primary sort (relevance).

How would I hide just one of the sort options?

I had this problem but I forgot that I had added some code previously that redirects the user to the product page if there was only one product. Make sure something like that isn’t in place. How does it behave with WPsolr off when you click on a category with one item in it?

Its not actually a plugin. I believe it used to be but their caching layer is on the server level. If you have any specific questions I can ask them and relay any answers.

I figured it out. It was the settings in section 2.5. Thanks for your help.

Yeah, none of the indices in Algolia have queries in the analytics. You can actually include all indices child of the main index.
