Older versions than WPSOLR 22.0 are not available, for security reasons.

This is a Solr error, due to an “invalid” character somewhere in the data.
You can deactivate indexed fields (custom fields and taxonomies) one by one in screen 2.2, reindex, and check for the error to disappear. This should indicate which field contains the character.

This character is the hexadecimal code for “<". Did you import your data from XML? Do you index PDF files (or other media files)?

Please use a share link to your attached image.

The procedure is the same: identify the post with the debug mode, fix it do not index it.

The test index is deprecated and will be removed in next release. The test Elasticsearch mapping is not compatible anymore with WPSOLR’s, hence the mapping error.

Indeed. In fact your 2 steps solution is not specific to multi-sites.

    For single sites and multi-sites:
    – ‘OR’ does not work on hierarchical taxonomies (categories)
    – The exclusion option (“Do not use other items selections to calculate the items count”) enables to see other facet values when a facet value is selected

    – Let’s call your 5 tag terms: R1, R2, R3, S1, S2 (“R” for root, “S” for subsite)
    – On site “R”: you are testing the search configured as a network search: it queries all post types of “R” and “S” from the shared index.
    – On site “R”: the facet tag is configured with a ‘OR’
    – On site “R”: the search displays all 5 facets, which is fine.
    – On site “R”: the ‘OR’ option works for terms R1, R2, R3
    – On site “R”: the ‘OR’ option does not work for terms S1, S2

    My questions:
    – On site “R”: did you activate the “Do not use other items selections to calculate the items count” option on the facet tag? (If not, please try it)
    – On site “S”: does the ‘OR’ option work for terms S1, S2 ?

    hierarchical: true

WPSOLR does not support ‘OR’ for category (hierarchical) taxonomy facets.

The procedure in the previous link should have enabled you to identify the post with the error.
You can try to fix the post content (not easy), or just ignore it with the “Do not search” option on the post edit metabox.

I now have a custom taxonomy

Is it a custom category or a custom tag?

You create your Solr index from the WPSOLR admin as usual, reindex your data, and select it for search on screen 2.2.

    Indeed.

    1. Select “Use my theme search template” option in screen 2.1: this will let your theme or page builder manage the display of search results returned by WPSOLR query.

    2. Create an archive search template in Elementor, with a 2 column section. In a column add the WPSOLR facets widget. In the other column add the archive posts or archive products widget. That’s it.
