WPSOLR does not use the Toolset filters, only the Toolset search, sort and pagination.
If you use a Toolset archive, you can also add the WPSOLR filters (also named “facets”) widget.
If you use a Toolset view, the WPSOLR filters will not work.

Manually updating the field data type on an existing index has to be done in your Solr server’s index schema.xml file.

This is why I encourage you to just create a new index in WSOLR, and use this new index: the new field data type will be applied automatically.

I’d rather suggest to create a new index.

But if you’re happy to try, replace:
<dynamicField name="*_i" type="integer"
with
<dynamicField name="*_i" type="long"
(then reload your index, and reindex all your data)

The first option is used for search: products containing a tag will be found and filtered by the tag.

The second option is used for suggestions (autocompletion): the tag will appear in the suggestions if it matches the keywords.

WPSOLR 22.1 works with latest versions of Solr.
But I cannot tell you wether WPSOLR 20.5 will. It is outdated.

The Solr dynamic format of *_dt_i changed from int to long. You will need to create a brand new Solr index from WPSOLR, reindex your data, and select your new index in screen 2.1

You could also change manually the schema.xml file of your current index, and reload the index. Bit I’m not sure it will work.
