As far as I know, they have an old Solr version, Solr 3 version if I remember, and I think it could only be used with their own plugin (to be confirmed with them).

You’ll need a Solr hosting, as pantheon does not allow it.

Because there are no keywords in this query.

You should use your theme’s search page, instead of WPSOLR’s Ajax search template in screen 2.1 option “Search template”. It will be much better integrated with your theme (activate our WooCommerce extension also. We have WooCommerce tutorials too).

Also, you can add Ajax and advanced facets layouts to your theme too (price slider, ranges, select2, color picker ….).

With the WooCommerce extension installed, you can index and use attributes as facets, like the _price (with a nice slider facet layout).

Keep in mind you’ll need to reindex all your products.

    1) Did you active the bbPress extension ?
    2) Your Opensolr index config seems to be wrongly setup. See credentials errors in opensolr logs. Please notice that you can create an opensolr index from WPSOLR : /guide/video-gallery-twentysixteen-theme-search-template/video-setup-demo-twentysixteen-theme-template-opensolr/

    It’s not supported.

You can eventually use our Yith WooCommerce Ajax Search extension :

You should use your theme’s search template, instead of WPSOLR’s Ajax search template in screen 2.1 option “Search template”. Your template will receive the posts results as usual, with the standard loop.

If you want to use a hosted Solr during your tests:

(https://opensolr.com/ is fully integrated with WPSOLR)

Personally, I’m more in Solr. Its visual admin dashboard is easier to understand (Elasticsearch’s admin Kibana is all about JSON commands).

But if you want WPSOLR to fully automate the Solr index creation, you will need to start Solr in cloud mode. Solr cloud provides all the apis to create and setup an index.

    See the difference:

Will you install Solr/Elasticsearch locally ?

You can use the best solution in the world for that: google analytics.

Create reports that extract the search parameters from the url, and cross it with tens of other factors (bounce, views, …).

Looking at the line in error, it appears you imported taxonomies without a name.

    1. Your theme search template is responsible for showing results. Just update it to hide results when certain parameters are present/absent in the url.

    Or use our filter /guide/actions-and-filters/search-results-modify-posts/

    2. Check out our tutorial: /knowledgebase/woocommerce-pack-can-add-sort-items-default/

Just activate the WPSOLR “Theme” extension, and set up some advanced filter layouts (slider, select2) in screen 2.4. I also set up the sorts.

Remember to use a new index for each environment.

    Can I see your screen 2.2 ?

I suspect you indexed your data without the WooCommerce extension activated. Try to reindex everything.

    Looks correct.
