For the filters, WPSOLR provides out of the box a color filter based on your tags: /guide/configuration-step-by-step-schematic/activate-extensions/extension-theme/theme-facets-layouts/theme-color-picker-layout/

For your sort, if your items are stored in a custom field, they can be used as sort items also.

The “load more” results would require a custom development.

I am using algolia, and can’t make the sorting of orders and items to work the way i want it on the backend.

Can you describe what you’d like?

I would like the frontend filters to work the way they work without the wpsolr plugin

Why don’t you use WPSOLR’s ready made filters? You can use color pickers, price sliders, category hierarchies, checkboxes, radioboxes, select2 lists …

The page size is controlled on WPSOLR screen 2.1
