Hi

Will the plugin search the WP Users? We also want to have extra custom fields with job skills, etc and need those to be included.

Hi,

The plugin cannot search the WP Users.

The problem is not the search, but the results. Returning post types to the search loop is a standard feature of all themes. But WP Users are not post types, and handling results containing WP users is dependent on each theme.

Is it possible in WordPress to automate (scheduled task) the extraction of data from some of the User fields into a custom (staff) post type for each user? If we could do this i guess the plugin could search the content of those pages?

It is possible, yes. With custom code for sure. Perhaps with some plugins.

Indeed, copying WP user fields in a custom post type fields would be compatible with WPSOLR search.
