Unable to Connect to Bonsai Elastisearch

    Hello,

I have successfully purchased and activated a licence for my website,

However – I am unable to connect WPSOLR to my Bonsai hosted Elastisearch.

After entering my Hosted Search details and clicking ‘Check the index status..’ I receive the following errors:

    ‘An error or timeout occured.

    Error code: error

    Error message: Internal Server Error’

Using my connection details for Bonsai I am able to access the service in my browser and see a valid JSON response. What could be causing this issue for my WPSOLR install?

    Hello,

Did you follow the tutorial : Create a Bonsai Elasticsearch index ?

    Hello,

Yes, I have carefully followed the tutorial. I’ve tried again from start to finish with the same result

Which version of WPSOLR is it?

It could be your WP hosting’s firewall preventing outbound calls. Can you ssh on the WP server, and cURL your Bonsai cluster url (starting with https://user:password@)?

You can also have a look at a similar problem (especially php curl): https://www.wpsolr.com/forums/topic/http-request-failed-could-not-resolve-host/

Thanks for your help – this has been resolved by moving hosts as even their support was unable to assist. Seems to have been a firewall issue on shared hosting
