Hi

Some of my facet filters do not seem to have any effect on the results when selected. I notice this happens on labels with a colon (:) but not other characters such as a dash (-)

Examples NOT working include:
Financial Management: Credit and Debt
Employment History: Labour Force Status Spell

These DO work:
Self-completion variables without ‘sc’ prefix
Socio-demographic Characteristics

How can I resolve this issue?

This is correct: the “:” character is not supported in facet labels. For now, the only way to prevent the problem is to not use “:” in your facets.

I have also noticed that filters return no results when ‘and’ is in the string

e.g.
‘Incomes Benefits and Allowances’ – NO results
Changed ‘and’ to ‘&’
‘Incomes Benefits & Allowances’ – works

I must be able to use ‘and’ in the facet items

Here is a fix for facets containing “:” or “and”.

Please remove your current WPSOLR version, and install the fix instead.

The fix will be released with WPSOLR 23.5
