What is Elasticpress.io?

Elasticpress.io is a service to host Elasticsearch indexes. Rather than installing Elasticsearch on your own server, you get a subscription and let the service manage your indexes on your behalf. No need of manpower, or servers, anymore.

What is the difference between ElasticPress and elasticpress.io?

ElasticPress is a free plugin to replace your WordPress SQL search with an Elasticsearch search. The plugin is free and requires an Elasticsearch index. The plugin is agnostic regarding Elasticsearch: it can be local, or hosted anywhere.
elasticpress.io is an Elasticsearch hosting service, compatible with the plugin. And also compatible with the WPSOLR plugin, as demonstrated by the video.
