We have a date field created using advanced custom fields plugin. We need the most recent records based on this field to show up on top when sorted by score descending. Is there a way I can add a boost function similar to the example given in https://lucene.apache.org/solr/guide/6_6/the-dismax-query-parser.html#TheDisMaxQueryParser-Thebf_BoostFunctions_Parameter.

If sorted by score, the second sort by date will not help.

I am trying to assign the score so that most recent records based on our date field get a higher score and will appear on top when sorted by score. we don’t need a second sort.

We are on self hosted Solr. Looks like the extension is for Elasticsearch only.

Exact. The decay scoring is only available for Elasticsearch.
