    I get this error in wpsolr config step 1.

    I do have PDF embedder Premium V4 and I now tested with the free version 4.6.x. Same error.
    Should I care about that or is just a bug about the notice?

    It means you activated the WPSOLR’s PDF embedder extension, but the extension thinks PDF embedder plugin is not active (the plugin probably has changed its activation method somehow).
    It is a warning indeed, but should not prevent you from indexing the pdfs.
