the server folder shows 7.4.0.

Solr 7 and Solr 8 are not supported anymore. That is probably the problem.

If you upgraded WPSOLR, the embedded Solr client libraries also were upgraded too, and could have stopped working with your Solr version.

it would still be at 7.4 I guess. We haven’t done anything related to this. Would updating the wp solr plugin have done it? I could have recently done that.
