Hi,

I’m not sure how to begin setting up solr on the hosting server where my website is. All documentation I’ve read uses access to the terminal which isn’t available via cpanel. Is it possible through ftp?

For installing Solr, you need access to the server with ssh.
You can also use a Solr hosting provider like https://www.wpsolr.com/guide/configuration-step-by-step-schematic/apache-solr-hosting/

Thanks. Yeah it needs to be a dedicated server to have ssh access. I went with a SOlr hosting provider in the end.
