Duplicated posts while we broadcast articles

  • 1 year, 3 months ago #34410

    Hello Team,
we are facing an issue while broadcasting article from one site to another, the both articles i.e
    1. The Parent article which we broadcasted to another site.
    2. The child article which was broadcasted.

The parent shouldn’t come to the index of another site. Any solution for this?

    What is broadcasting?

Broadcasting like if we have a multi site network, we created one article in one site but the same article we would like have in another site, so instead of creating article we can move the same post to another site.

So, you have a post on 2 sites. If each site has its own index, each search should display only its own post.

Yes, It should have to work as you said, but unfortunately the 2 posts are showing in one site search i.e. To which site we are broadcasting/publishing the article.

    For Example:
we have a post/article in x site, so we broadcasted the article to y site.
    1. There is no issue with x site search.
    2. In y site the article showing 2 times in search. one is with x site permalink and one is with y site permalink

It looks like you are using a cross-domain index, private on site x, and shared on site y.

Or site y really contains both posts.

No, we are not using cross domain index. yes, site y having both posts.

If both posts are in site y, both posts are indexed and appear in results.

I mean we have only one post in y site, but in y site in search we are getting 2 posts i.e. from x site and y site.

Can you clear your site y index, check that your search returns no results, then reindex ?

By re-indexing the site y then the issue will solve, the thing is everyday will broadcast articles from one site to another, that means we need to re-index that every site and everyday. So can you provide the solution how can we stop showing article of site x on site y.

I cannot see other reasons: site y contains both posts, or site x and site y use the same index.

We are using, unique index name and values for every individual website.

Compare the post ids inside the 2 indices, and in both sites.
