Our server.
snfpaperParticipant4 years, 10 months ago in reply to: Error When Attempting To Index #28287That worked – thank you so much for your assistance! The new index is working now without any errors.
How do we delete the first index? We watched the video and followed the steps, but our old index is still sitting in there beside the new one.
snfpaperParticipant4 years, 10 months ago in reply to: Error When Attempting To Index #28285Thank you for the response. Do we have to delete the first index before creating the new one? We attempted to create a new index, with a different name from the first. After filling out the initial information, we were prompted to download a .zip file, which we did, and unzipped it in the designated folder. We clicked the “Check index status” button afterward, but we received an http error. Then we tried https instead, and received a cURL error. And upon switching back to http, we received a message telling us that “this index name already exists”.
And above that, in orange, it says, “Connect to your index (Loading the index…)”
Please advise. Thanks!
snfpaperParticipant6 years, 8 months ago in reply to: Search results for queries with multiple words #17597Ok, Thanks. Just to verify for us, there is no way to permit some of the search options like ~4 in the WordPress search bar. That way we would not be optimizing, just allowing more refined searching from withing the WordPress interface.
Thank you for helping us and clarifying all of this.
snfpaperParticipant6 years, 8 months ago in reply to: Search results for queries with multiple words #17595I do not understand. What does that mean? If that is what people want to find (“Dan Volitich”~4), would it not be more helpful than providing results that do not match their query?
snfpaperParticipant6 years, 8 months ago in reply to: Search results for queries with multiple words #17539Yes. Responses 2 and 3 are ideal for our site. We are hoping to configure the results accordingly. That way, if someone searches with or without quotations or ~4 on the WordPress site, the results would still return the way they do for responses 2 and 3 from the Solr admin.
If there is no way to do this, that is fine. We can inform our users about the proper way to search based on their queries.

If yes, please advise. If not, thank you so much for your help – we better understand the behavior of the search now and can inform our users of its behavior.
snfpaperParticipant6 years, 8 months ago in reply to: Search results for queries with multiple words #17526Is that ~4 meant to be used in the Solr admin? Because when we used it on the WordPress site, all it did was bring back results that also had the number 4 in them.
snfpaperParticipant6 years, 8 months ago in reply to: Search results for queries with multiple words #17514The search is working properly from the Solr admin dashboard. Is there a way we can ask the search to make sure the two words are close to each other? All the papers coming up with the name “Dan Volitich” have a Dan in it, and a Volitich in it, but not Dan Volitich together.
snfpaperParticipant6 years, 8 months ago in reply to: Search results for queries with multiple words #17512We are running solr on a Windows 2012R2 Server and our website is WordPress. How do we search on the admin dashboard? The screenshot appears too small and cannot make out any of the text.
snfpaperParticipant6 years, 8 months ago in reply to: Search results for queries with multiple words #17510How do I get to this place?
snfpaperParticipant6 years, 8 months ago in reply to: Search results for queries with multiple words #17506There are boosts listed (type, author, title, and tags), but the checkbox at the top of that page to activate them is not checked.
Also, this may be a silly question, but how do I execute a query in the Solr admin?
snfpaperParticipant6 years, 8 months ago in reply to: Search results for queries with multiple words #17504Neither of those options are selected.
snfpaperParticipant6 years, 8 months ago in reply to: Search results for queries with multiple words #17502That doesn’t seem to be the default on our website (see link in original request). When multiple terms are included in a single search, it appears to be using OR logic.
